Lucy Kellock-McHenry is an Interior Designer based in Ocean Grove, Victoria. Having spent the past five years working in Melbourne on a range of high-end residential and commercial projects, along with some of Australia’s biggest brands, she has now formed her own practice to service the Bellarine, Surf Coast and Greater Geelong area.

With a highly considered and instinctual design approach, Lucy provides full scope interior design services, from concept ideation through to documentation. Understanding that the spaces we inhabit impact the way in which we live, work and play, along with a comprehensive understanding of form, materiality and function, sees her create intelligent interiors that are refined and thoughtful.

Lucy holds a Diploma of Interior Design and Decoration.

Services

1.0 Engagement
The process begins with an initial and thorough briefing, where clients are invited to share their desires and vision for the project. A site measure then follows, to take dimensions in order to gain a comprehensive understanding of the existing conditions.

2.0 Concept Realisation and Development
Once the brief has been taken, the concept ideation begins. Here, a founding scheme and design details are formed. This process formalises the project’s design intent and sees the development of key design components. Clients are presented with an initial concept presentation, which encapsulates the concept ideation and realisation, spatial planning, along with finishes and fixture selections.

3.0 Spatial Planning
Floor plans are revised in order to maximise an optimal flow, to create a harmony between spaces and ultimately enhance the experience of the day-to-day.

4.0 Finishes and Fixture Selections
Here, a thoughtfully curated selection of finishes is prepared. Hard materials such as stone, tiles, floorboards, cabinetry colours and tapware finishes are selected to form the foundation of the palette. Soft finishes such as carpet and curtain fabrics are then chosen, to create a cohesive and harmonious scheme. Texture, pattern, colour and scale are all elements which are considered when forming the palette. Preliminary fixtures and appliances are specified, in keeping with a clients budget and the overall aesthetics of the project.

5.0 Design Development
The design development stage is the refinement of the concept. It’s where all client feedback is listened to and absorbed. The design and details are finessed and looked at in great detail. Comprehensive drawings of plans and joinery items are produced to demonstrate the specifics; how each drawer opens, where each material is applied. Clients are then presented with a design development presentation to review prior to the commencement of the documentation package.

6.0 Documentation and Project Management
An extensive documentation package is prepared and issued, allowing clients to obtain pricing from various tradespeople, including builders and cabinet makers for costing purposes. Corresponding schedules are also included, outlining in detail the specified finishes, fixtures and fittings, and lighting. Once the tender process is complete and a builder is appointed to the project, we are then able to liaise with trades to ensure the project's vision is understood and to ensure the outcome is as designed. Regular site visits to ensure the project is on track are also scheduled.

7.0 Furniture, Lighting, Art and Object Curation
A highly personalised selection of furniture, lighting, art and object is selected, to complement the architecture and interiors, in order to provide meticulously layered, resolved and curated spaces. Detailed schedules and floorpan layouts are provided to clients. Furniture procurement and onsite delivery can also be included in this aspect of the project.
